Los Angeles Hotel Employees end hunger strike

BusinessWeek.com is reporting that a Los Angeles airport area hotel employees have ended their hunger strike in support of higher wages. The workers underwent the water-only fast outside the Westin Hotel near Los Angeles International Airport in support of a city living wage law enacted Nov. 27.

Employers will have to pay about 3,500 workers hourly rates of $9.39 per hour with health benefits, or at least $10.64 per hour without health benefits.

You have to have respect for anyone who can stand up for their beliefs with such passion. Hotel employees deserve a lot more respect than they get. Don't forget they are the people picking up after you when you are on vacation.
