Pet friendly hotels on the rise
If you didn't already know, the hotel business is big business. We are not talking small change here, we are talking about a $113 billion industry, and the hotel owners are always looking for more ways to make a few extra dollars. Luckily for pet owners - 19% who like to take your pet on vacation - are finally being heard.
After years of being over looked, AAA is reporting that pet friendly hotels are on the rise. The amount of pet friendly hotels has grown 28% since 1999! That is more than 13,000 hotels all over the USA. Not only are a lot of these hotels accepting pets, a lot of them are spoiling pets rotten. It is win-win for everyone!
So the next time you are going on vacation don't get discouraged about leaving your pet at home, find yourself a nice Pet Friendly Hotel!
Just beware. If you end up at the Hotel Vendome in Prescott Arizona, and you happen to get room 16, you may want to look out for Noble the cat. He isn't just a cat wondering the halls of the hotel, he is the ghostly cat that accompanies Abby Byr.
Abby and her husband purchased the hotel but lost it because of unpaid taxes. The new owners were kind enough to let the couple and their cat Noble stay in the hotel free of charge. Soon after Abby's husband left it is said that Abby and Noble both died of starvation in 1921. The duo has been haunting the hotel ever since.
Some pets have enough trouble getting along with other living animals, never mind a ghost cat.
