Hotel works suspended for supports AIDS awareness

The International AIDS conference wrapped up in Toronto on a negative note when 70 hotel employees at the Chelsea Hotel in Toronto Ontario were asked to remove small pins supporting the International AIDS conference. When they refused to remove the pins all 70 hotel employees were suspended indefinitely.

Employees protesting the suspensions were joined by many of the International AIDS conference delegates who were staying at the Chelsea Hotel. While others expressed disgust over the way the Chelsea Hotel is handing such a sensitive issue.

"We're here at an international AIDS conference where we're trying to set a partnership between the workplace and the management," agreed Alan Leather, a delegate at the conference from Geneva. "And they're showing complete disrespect for workers who are actually prepared to stand up and do something about HIV and AIDS."
