Hotel Bed Jumping Family Showdown

Although many of our viewers have commented that hotel bed jumping is bound to be featured in future Olympic Games, we don’t really consider bed jumping to be a competitive endeavour. That is, until today.

We recently received hilarious bed jumping images from Geert - one of our most dedicated fans. Not only has Geert taken the “sport” to a whole ‘nother level, but he has inspired some spirited dialogue within his own family.

Geert’s son Rémi recently emailed us with some insight into his father’s passion for the Jump, and sent along some equally excellent images of his own! These were also taken at the Terra Ventura Hotel in Gondorf, Germany.

Hi, My father (Geert) is a great fan of your site. He seems to be in his mid-life crisis, ’cause every time he goes to a hotel, he lets my mother take pictures of him jumping the bed. He’s quite proud of it too actualy. At his work, he’s got all his pictures of his bed jumps on the wall, and he’s reserving a wall for clients who also bedjump.

I see you’ve already received the pictures of him jumping in Gondorf. Well, I went along on the trip, and, of course, I also bed jumped. Also a friend of mine couldn’t resist the bed. Pity it wasn’t a soft bed though. I hope you’ll like the pictures :)

Bed Jumping at the Disneyland Paradise Pier Hotel

They say that a picture is worth a thousand words, and this awesome BedJump.com feature proves it. Alina and Kim - two young ladies on a college budget enjoying their very first road trip. This has hotel bed jumping written all over it.

So my best friend Kim and I went on our very first road trip ever! Exploring everywhere between San Fransisco and San Diego in 5 days on a college kids budget is tough work. What else is there to do but ask your parents to pay for one night at the Disneyland hotel on the last night of your trip?

We got there late in the after noon after spending all day walking around Hollywood, and hitting up Disneyland for a few hours before it shut down, and were about ready to pass out. But one PCH Grill (the featured restaurant at the hotel) dessert later, which included 15 scoops of ice cream, and every topping imaginable, we had quite the second wind. Since the pool was already closed, and there was nothing good on TV, what else was there to do BUT jump on the bed?

Anatomy of a German Hotel Bed Jump, Belgian Style

Geert is a bed jumping aficionado from Bruges, Belgium. When Geert travels, he maintains a strict agenda of good times…and hotel bed jumping.

When Geert was recently in the town of Gondorf, Germany he stayed at the Terra Ventura Hotel . Under the motto “discover, seize, experience”, the Terra Ventura offers “very special guest experiences”. Geert has a clear vision of what makes his hotel stays unique and special - and luckily for us he documents his experiences for us all to enjoy.

The last time Geert sent in some jump images he was in Aachen, Germany at the upscale Dorint Sofitel Quellenhof Hotel. Today we are happy to showcase Geert’s latest educational series - featuring take-off, in-flight and of course the most important part…the landing.

It’s me again, Geert from Bruges, Belgium. Due the bad quality of the bed my second attempt of bed jumping on December 4th failed during the warming up. In January however, we took a few days off after a very busy December month and travelled again to…Germany. There in Gondorf one can find the 3 star hotel Terra Ventura. The main event of our trip was off course the jump. I hope you’ll enjoy it. I certainly did as much as I keep enjoying the site.

It just keeps getting better and better!

Bed Jumping at the Tarin Hotel in Chiang Mai

Chiang Mai is the largest and most culturally significant city in Northern Thailand, and is the capital of Chiang Mai Province. Known as the “Rose of the North”, Chiang Mai is Thailand’s second-largest city after Bangkok.

When Christophe and Roland travelled to Northern Thailand, they were sure to enjoy the cultural offerings of the ancient city of Chiang Mai (which of course, means “new city”). On their last night at the Tarin Hotel, they remembered to add hotel bed jumping to their activity agenda.

Hotel Bed Jumping in Toronto, Ontario

Every time we think we have seen just about every angle in a hotel jump image, we get a new set in our inbox that really cracks us up. The only thing we like more than receiving your hotel jumping image sets….is receiving your second set, and your third!

BedJump.com featured images of Marie (aka “pinksnapper”) over the summer last year. Her first jump image was taken at a Hampton Inn, and her second was captured at a Holiday Inn.

Today we are delighted to feature Marie’s third bed jumping session from a hotel in Toronto, Ontario. Enjoy!

Bed Jumping at the Casa del Sol in Ensenada, Mexico

When Darja and her partner were recently in Ensenada on the Baja peninsula, they couldn’t resist picking up some souvenirs. And when they checked into the Casa Del Sol, they made sure to test the magical powers of their newly purchased mementos.

Trying out our new lucha libre masks and, of, course, the bed jumping quality of our hotel!

Jumping at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Richmond, Virginia

Many of our featured bed jumpers are travellers who spend a lot of time in hotels. These are people who know the lodging experience intimately because they stay at hotels often for business.

Sometimes hotel guests stay at a hotel property for weeks or even months at a time. It could be because of a contract position out of town, or perhaps a guest relocating to a new geographic location.

Regardless of the reason for frequent or extended hotel stays, these guests share something in common: the desire to somehow make the hotel guestroom feel like home.

Lindsay recently sent in these awesome images of her at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Richmond, Virginia. Lindsay was at the hotel for a lengthy five weeks…

…we lived here for five weeks, so this was bound to happen eventually!

It’s pretty hard to miss the additional wall decorating going on in Lindsay’s guestroom, so of course I inquired as to what the motivation was for the scheme. As suspected, with five weeks away from friends and loved-ones, a little extra spice on the walls helps make a guestroom feel like home!

Haha, well the wallpaper is another byproduct of our boredom. Well, my roommate’s boredom that is. She missed her boyfriend so much that she wrote it on the wall in crepe paper, took a picture and sent it to him. It kept evolving over the five weeks and went from plain words to being surrounded by hearts, postcards, and photos. She sent him pictures of it at every stage, there are so many pictures that she could have a mini flip book! The green boa on the side surrounding the photos on the wall is my solution to not being able to stick pushpins into the wall. We used the framed art above the beds as bulletin boards to tape up photos and letters.

Sister knows best at the Manchester Grand Hyatt

Here at BedJump.com we always say it’s family-first. Especially when “family” is grabbing the camera late-night on New Year’s Eve to capture some hilarious bed jumping images!

Friends and siblings had a raucous night out in San Diego New Year’s Eve. We went back to our hotel and my sister (the blonde) declared, “lets take bed jumping pictures!” It was our first foray into the art form and this was the best shot taken. p.s. the bed was much better for jumping than sleeping.

Rachel sent in these bed jumping antics taken at San Diego’s upscale Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel. We enjoyed watching the tender pillow’ed landing in the first shot, then the timid tandem in the second in preparation for achieving the perfect duet in the third. Who has more fun than us?

Hotel Bed Jumping at the Fairmont San Jose

Attending conferences for work can be demanding. The pace of a well planned conference can be pretty quick, and the volumes of information expected to be retained can test any attendee’s mental stamina.

Most delegates attending a conference program of some sort expect to begin the sessions with a welcome reception. These events are meant to break the ice between industry colleagues, and inspire dialogue. Hopefully friendships are also developed that will last when the conference is over and attendees are back in the office.

Once in a while you might be lucky enough to attend a conference with colleagues who truly go “over and above” when getting the most of their conference experience. These are the guests who drive the culture of their organizations. These are the innovators of their trade. These are the hotel bed jumpers.

Today BedJump.com is proud to feature two such conference attendees at the swank Fairmont San Jose Hotel. Not only are Tim and Mark able to walk and chew gum at the same time, but they are also able to do sumo impressions and order room service while hotel bed jumping!

The first night of our conference began sedately enough with a few glasses of wine each at the welcome reception. When the reception bar shut down at 9 we moved to the hotel bar and continued the festivities there while Tim (white shirt) entertained us with his sumo wrestler impressions. A good time was had by all, so when the hotel bar shut down after midnight and about 5 more cocktails apiece, we moved the party to Joe’s (green shirt) room for some room service wine and bedjumping.

Hotel Bed Jumping at the Marriott in Lawrence, Kansas

The “Holy Grail” of the hotel industry is the repeat guest. It costs lots of money in advertising to get the hotel guest in the door for the first time, but it’s virtually free to keep that guest coming back - at least from the advertising side of things.

Here at BedJump.com, we get just as excited when we receive repeat bed jumping images. The fact that we have viewers around the world bouncing around on beds from hotel to hotel is very exciting!

Today we feature Dru - another repeat bed jumper showing off his stuff at the Spring Hill Suites by Marriott in Lawrence, Kansas. That’s some sweet action Dru.

The family was in town for thanksgiving, and I tried to introduce the next olympic sport: Bed Jumping.

Hotel Bed Jumping at the Canberra Novotel, Australia

Many people think the capital of Australia is Sydney, but actually it’s Canberra. The site for Canberra was selected for the location of the nation’s capital in 1908 as a compromise between Sydney and Melbourne, the two largest cities down under.

Being an inland city any travel by car to Canberra will involve driving through the surrounding bushland. And if the journey also includes travel through Australia’s desert outback, an overnight stay in a Canberra hotel can feel like paradise.

Enjoy these images of Florian and his buddy stretching their legs at the Canberra Novotel after a trip through the desert. Sweet as apples, mate!

After a long and exhausting journey through the Australian desert there is nothing more refreshing than a good jump on the cozy Novotel beds. But then again, that’s about all one can do on a weekend in Canberra!

Great page, I love the pictures. IMO, bed jumping should be an official olympic discipline ;)

BedJump Presents: A Study of Girlz in Motion

Sometimes we find bed jumping images that we aren’t exactly sure what to do with. That’s usually when we group them together like these two with an “artsy” title and pretend that this blog post is an important artistic statement.

Actually, the more we look at these two hotel bed jumping images, the more we think we’re not pretending at all.

As we always say here at BedJump.com: it really does just keep getting better and better!
