Brian’s Bally New Year’s Bedjumps

Most of us try to ring in the New Year with a bang. Party time, resolutions, old ang zyme…that sort of thing.

Some folks take the New Year’s plunge literally, with quick swims in freezing water for example. Many more people, we suspect, talk about all the awesome things they’ll do in the morning, but fail to overcome the hangover enough to actually get their feet wet.

Then there’s Brian, who spent his New Year’s this year mixing it up in Las Vegas. With so many temptations in Sin City it’s fairly predictable that most visitors aren’t too mobile on January 1st…but luckily for us Brian found enough energy to grab his camera and share his own jump-start to 2008–Vegas style.

Despite a rough New Years eve, I knew what I had to do first thing in the morning on 1/1/08.

Brian, this will be your year for sure.

Desert Jumping with Dark Slide at the Caravanserail

The hotel industry thrives on repeat guests, and we get equally excited when we receive repeat bed jump pictures from our readers.

We met ‘Dark Slide’ back in October of last year when he dropped us some images of his hotel expereince in Barcelona with his pal Valentin.

When Dark Slide recently travelled to Tunisia in North Africa, he stayed at the Caravanserail Hotel in the city of Nefta.

We’ve heard plenty of rumours about Tunisia’s underground hotel flying carpets, and clearly these tall tales are true!

I’m back !!! I was in Barcelona (see pictures, 11 october 2007) And now I’m in Nefta (Tunisia) –a very nice country to discover desert !

Bed Jumping with Super-K at the The Ambassador

When we close out eyes and imagine a luxurious vacation destination, of course Milwaukee, Wisconsin always comes top of mind.

Andrew and Kathy recently stayed at the swish Ambassador Hotel in Milwaukee, and naturally the pillow-top bedding inspired a little bed jumping activity!

If I were creating an advertisement for the Ambassador’s luxury hotel experience, rest assured this picture perfect bed drop would be featured front and centre:

While staying at the swanky 1930’s art-deco-ish Ambassador in Milwaukee, Kathy strikes a 1930’s art-deco-ish super-pose. In need of bed jumping faster than a speeding bullet? Super K to the rescue!

Old School Hotel Bed Jumping Maven in Virginia

We have never laid any claim to creating a hotel bed jumping movement. After all, we started this blog after seeing a few wonderful bed jumping pictures posted from guests online.

Here’s confirmation that there was life before BedJump.com, from way back in 2006! Thanks for sending this in, Bohdi…and you’re right, we’re living proof that there really is a website dedicated to hotel bed jumping…

Two years ago a few of us checked into a room in a hotel right on the water in Virginia Beach. We had a little room party going on when I started to brag about my bed jumping ability.

Well the attached picture shows it all as I was able to jump from bed to bed with a drink in both hands and not spilling a drop (and not hitting my head on the ceiling). No one believed that there was a web site dedicated to bed jumping so I thought I would submit my pic for all to see.

“Salto del Tigre” at the NH Palacio de la Merced

When Javier was recently in Burgos with his not-quite-girlfriend, he found himself without much to do. Luckily for us he found some entertainment, BedJump style!

First date with my new girl(just)friend, Burgos is a pretty cold city so there were nothing interesting to do, so… The spanish name of what we were training for is “salto del tigre” some like tigerĀ“s jump. Be careful my friends.

When you’re in a town known as the “Land of Castles”, you’ll get to sleep in a bed fit for a princess. And when you’re with a beautiful and fun friend–who’s only that–clearly there’s a little extra energy in the air to be expensed.

Enjoy these hilarious bed jumping antics snapped at the NH Palacio de la Merced.

Xtreme Bed Jumping at the Birmingham Novotel

The Motorcyle and Scooter Show in Birmingham, U.K. attracts riders and enthusiasts from all over. With events like the Custom Xtreme Zone, the Adventure Zone and the Wall of Death–you might expect a few Xtreme sport aficionados in attendance.

Nadine attended the show as a featured rider, and she stayed at the Birmingham Novotel where she captured this sweet jump action. With technique like this, we figure Nadine must have been riding the Wall of Death!

I was visiting Birmingham as i was a rider at the National Bike Show at the NEC and stayed in Birmingham’s Novotel. So i decided to do some bed back flipping!

Bed Jumping at the Palace Hotel, San Francisco

Let’s face it–huge Christmas house parties are a ton of work. And after years and years of hosting the big annual bashes, some hosts decide to tone things down and provide a more “civilized” brand of hospitality.

That’s when folks like Casey round up a gang of twenty, and check into a suite at a swank hotel like the Palace in San Francisco. Nothing represents quiet seasonal reflection better than a Van Halen-inspired hotel bed drop!

To satiate the wives, we scuttled our 10 year old tradition of throwing a huge (350 people) Christmas party at our house in San Francisco and beginning this year, changed to a bit more, shall we say, dignified party. Twenty of us rented a suite in the Palace Hotel downtown and before we left we said, “hey, someone needs to post a pick on the bed jump blog.” So, of course, I obliged. Running through my mind was David Lee Roth in the “Jump” video.

A Perfect Marriage Begins in…er…on Bed

Wow.

We get all kinds of awesome images sent to BedJump HQ. Most arrive with a supporting story, but we receive some photos that simply leave the context up to our viewers to decipher.

Steve sent us these two beauties not too long ago, but we didn’t get any supporting info. One thing is clear however…that this young lady is one happy camper.

We assume that these pics kicked off the honeymoon, but who knows–perhaps this was a way to work off some pre-vow jitters at the expense of hair and makeup?

The Great Restaurateur Bed Jump-Off of 2007

Geert is a friend of ours from Bruges, Belgium, and he’s quite a prolific hotel bed jumper. So much so, that he has a BedJump pictorial “Wall of Fame” in his restaurant, the Gulden Vlies.

One of Geert’s restaurateur colleagues (and a close friend) visited his restaurant recently, and he was spotted eye-balling Geet’s wall of fame:

Mario runs a superb restaurant in Snellegem and is often a guest with us. on a few occasions i saw him staring at my little wall of fame with a dreamy glance in his eyes… I knew he was going on a trip to Lisboa. And apparently he was up to something.

Clearly Geert’s instincts were bang on, and we received this hilarious image depicting the fruits of Mario’s bed jumping labour:

“After a few attempts, finally i succeeded. The picture attached is from the Lisboa Hotel Turim. Blandine (my wife) was still not yet recovered from our last visit to the Gulden Vlies, you know, with santa claus being there…

Maybe she’ll jump in february in Torgon.”

Indeed, we hope she does…and we’ll feature the pics right here at BedJump.com!

Hotel Date Jumping in El Paso

Planning an activity for a first date isn’t always easy. The challenge, of course, is to find the perfect balance between romance and fun. You want to reveal your terrific personality, and you want to create an environment where your date can do the same–in hopes of making an awesome first impression.

The options are limitless, and with a little creativity anyone can plan a date that will be truly memorable. Who knows, maybe you could even do something that will get posted on a fun blog…forever!

Jodean sent in these hilarious captures from a hotel room in El Paso Texas, showing off the best first date activity we’ve ever heard of:

Met through online dating and this is how we chose to spend our first date

Natural Born Bed Jumpers at the Gaslamp Marriott

When Chelo checked in to the San Diego Marriott Gaslamp Quarter to attend her company’s seasonal party, there were lots of preparations on the agenda. After all, who doesn’t want to look their best at a shindig with all your work colleagues?

All that work paid off of course, and there was still some time left over for some fun–BedJump style:

…so I was getting ready for my Company Holiday Party - got my hair all ‘did’, working the make-up, then I had the most wonderful thought! BEDJUMP TIME!!!! .the end.
