New Year’s Bed Jumping at the Budapester Hof, Hamburg
When Katharina and her friend tried to book their hotel for New Year’s Eve festivities two weeks out - they quickly realized that they had waited too long. Hotels were booked solid in Hamburg, Germany on December 31st so Katharina had to settle for whatever available lodging she could find.
When you’re stuck in a sold-out situation you might have to compromise a few luxuries that you normally would not be willing to forego. “Luxuries” like a clean and comfortable guestroom or value for price paid can slip away quickly under the circumstances.
We celebrated New Year’s Eve in Hamburg and this was the only hotel that was not booked out two weeks before the big event. Now, we know why. The room was too small, very dirty and extremely overpriced, but we still had fun jumping around on the bed.
We had a good laugh when we checked out the website for the budget Budapester Hof, which claims to offer a pleasant stay in their redesigned hotel. The hotel site states that “…our hotel lies in the heart of Hamburg” - according to Katharina, they really were lying!
We’re glad that Katherina and her friend made the most of a bad situation….and sent in the images to prove it:
