Beautiful Minds

Hosted by the University of Technology, Sydney, the Beautiful Minds exhibition showcases 100 years of the Nobel Prize and features selected Laureates and milieus from its 100 year history. The exhibition also explores the characteristics of creativity and discusses some of the more well-known Nobel Prizes against a backdrop of historic events. Free admission. More info

We Were Burnie Kids

The We Were Burnie Kids exhibition at the Parrmatta Heritage Centre explores the lives of children in orphanages and homes during the Depression and attempts to represent the atmosphere of the time, while showing the joy and hope the children still possessed. It features objects, photographs and stories from that time, as well as stories of Parramatta, past and present. More info

Sydney Harbour: Seldom Scene
is an exhibition of 40 original, rarely seen works that capture the spirit of the harbour over a period of almost 200 years. The artworks feature a mix of representational, picturesque, impressionist and modernist styles, capturing the beauty of the harbour and Sydney's vibrant life. Sacred Tracks of Warrane
is a unique multi-media exhibition offering a vitural simulation of the Cadi(gal) way of life before the arrival of the First Fleet. The virtual landscape of Warrane is inspired by original artworks and historical recollections and depicts Indigenous culture in great detail, allowing the user to explore one day in the life of a Cadi(gal) person. Pippin
is the first production by Peter Cousens' Kookaburra National Musical Theatre Company. It is the story of a young prince's quest to find the secret of happiness and fulfillment, a dance-driven fairy-tale which won 5 Tony Awards while on Broadway. Ticket prices vary. More info

The Blue Garden

Peter Moffat's The Blue Garden is a British play performed by the Insomniac Theatre. Set in two time periods (the 1940s and 1990s), the play is a mystery involving the uncovering of a love triangle and explores the different impacts of WW2 and the Holocaust on its five characters. Morriston Orpheus Choir
April 29
Internationally acclaimed and known as the 'Rolls Royce' of choirs, the Morriston Orpheus Choir will be performing only two performances in Sydney during their tour. Orpheus will be playing at the Sydney Opera House on Thursday 29, in performances that feature over 90 voices and include traditional, pop and contemporary songs. Tickets $82. More info

Emily Loves to Bounce

Emily Loves to Bounce
is inspired by the illustrated books of Stephen Michael King and is an imaginative show aimed at ages 4 to 8. The show is an blend of physical theatre, music, illusion and light, exploring the concept of breaking out of boxes, both physically and figuratively. Festival of German Films
April 19 - April 29
Some of the very best in German cinema is featured at this year's Festival of German Films, an eclectic selection of films released for the first time in Australia. The films include Four Minutes, where an elderly music teacher discovers the talents of a gifted pianist, who is a convicted killer; Offset, a complicated love triangle and tale of cultural misunderstanding; and Grave Decisions, a quirky satire focusing on an 11 year-old boy trying to find a wife for his widowed father. PEN lunchtime reading - Nicholas Jose

Author Nicholas Jose gives a lunchtime reading from two of his works, his recent thriller Original Face and the classic Paper Nautilus. Jose's readings are part of a series of readings supported by the City of Sydney and PEN, an association promoting the intellectual cooperation of writers around the world.
