Sydney: The award-winning Galileo Restaurant
Located in The Observatory Hotel, this innovative hotel restaurant has a fine reputation in Sydney for its French/modern
Australian-inspired cuisine with a twist of Japanese influence.
Under the guidance of chef Harunobu Inukai, it has retained its Chef's Hat award from the Sydney Morning Herald ‘Good Food Guide' for four consecutive years, and was awarded Restaurant of the Year 06 by the Australian Hotel Awards for Excellent. Quite a feat for a dining establishment in this city!
The restaurant has elegant decor, with antiques, walnut furniture and beautiful tapestries. Sketches from early editions of Vogue Magazine cover the cedar walls, providing a perfect backdrop for the 17th-century leather, Venetian dividing screen and the highly polished parquet floor. The extensive wine cellar has a superb selection of Australian and international wines.
If you fancy a real treat, you can choose from a 7-course degustation ($115pp, with matching wines $170pp), or a Chef's Surprise Degustation ($160pp, with matching wines $230pp). Open for breakfast from 6.30 am to 10.30am every day and dinner from 6.30 pm every evening. Lunch is served Monday to Friday.
