Sydney: Uliveto café - people-watching and great coffee!
After yum cha at the Regal yesterday, we decided to have coffee and bask in some glorious autumn weather at this great little café in the Cross. Recessed off Bayswater Road, you can sit inside or laze about in the sun-dappled, awning-shaded courtyard out the front.
Serves delicious coffee of all persuasions ($3) and a selection of luscious sandwiches, cakes, and more substantial meals with an Austrian/Italian bent and a list of ever-changing specials. Because we'd just stuffed our faces with steamed pork buns, we weren't hungry. However, this café is a very popular hang on a Sunday afternoon and I ran into a few friends whose opinions I value. So I asked them what they recommended: "everything, particularly pasta", "fruit bruschetta and the juices," and Sally reckoned it was her "favourite place for a big fry-up breakfast". Watch the world go past in this friendly, relaxed cafe.
