Melbourne Boat Show

From July 5-9, Melbourne hosted a fabulous boat show for everyone from canoe and kyak wilderness enthusiasts, traditional fishermen to power boat junkies and posh yachtsmen.  Many people forget that Australia is partly known for the Murray-Darling river which is very popular for hosue boat rental vacations and other boat-related holidays.  The vast array of choices and prices of boat merchandise might boggle just about anyone's mind.  The Boating Industry of Victoria arranged the Melbourne event.  Similar, smaller-scale events will take place in other Australian states in coming months.

As the Southern Hemisphere's largest undercover boat show, Melbourne didn't disappoint with its impressive displays.  It wasn't just opportunities to watch short movies on these vessels, or hear about "the fish that got away." You could actually get right up on different kinds of ships, dingys and boats, explore inside and even rate their quality and practicality.  Surveys were all over.  Manufacturers were seeking public feedback.   Raffles and other on-site contests made particiapting in survey worthwhile. In some cases, passers by were asked not to touch the merchandise!  Some of the most expensive equipment was for observation only.  Where then, did all the fingerprints come from on the glass portholes?

Boat-goers came by and see and learn about the latest in engines, electronics and all types of marine accessories.  Experts wer available to tell you about not only what was on the floor, but also what merchandise is up and coming.  After all, this is the middle of winter for Victorians.  New models will be available beforey ou know it! Bargain specials were advertised during the event, but some were prolonged.  Check out participanting exhibitors and follow up with their contact person.  If you're in the market for boats and equipment, you can still get in touch with gear suppliers to take advantage of some of their great deals!

This was the chance to get up close to millions of dollars worth of boats, accessories, fishing equipment and some of the owners and boat carers.  Smaller boat shows in Adelaide and Sydney are just some of the line up you can check out below:
